It’s All About Us

Reading time – 17 seconds  .  .  .

I was recently facilitating workshops at a leadership conference -The Trust Summit – and it was and is all about leadership and trust.

I worked with an advanced group of leaders to explore self-trust, relationship trust and organizational trust and I’m confident that it all begins and is driven by the individual. As Steven Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, puts it, “If you think the problem is out there, that very thought is the problem.”

This conference was conducted by the LGL Leadership team in conjunction with the National Council on Culture & Leadership and it’s as clear as can be that without trust there is no leadership and people hunker down into self-preservation mode and we’re all worse off. Combine that with the findings of the Pew and Gallup organizations that have found that 81 of 100 Americans don’t trust our government and it is easy to understand why we as a nation are mired in paralysis.

We have to trust ourselves and care enough to make change for the better.

Ed. note: There is much in America that needs fixing and we are on a path to continually fail to make things better. It is my goal to make a difference – perhaps to be a catalyst for things to get better. That is the reason for these posts. To accomplish the goal requires reaching many thousands of people and a robust dialogue. Apparently, voters who do not trust our government have no idea why, as they continue to keep our most unethical and untrustworthy politicians in office.
    Jack, as you mention leadership,

I think we have just witnessed a model example of American political leadership in this last election. It would be hard to find a better description of effective leadership than our unethical and anti-American politicians, who like to call themselves Republicans. By simply repeating one lie after another, they continue to achieve outstanding leadership results.

I am always amazed at how middle-class republicans constantly vote to have their personal wealth redistributed to the very rich. Their political leaders should be heralded as the most effective in our history at convincing these people to cut their own throats!

    What happens IF?
What happens if this Federal Tax Reform Proposal is enacted, that will reduce the size of government and allow the free market to work throughout the new world economy? My proposal would be, “The only source of revenue each of our governments has, is a consumption sales tax on all products and services created for profit.” This has only the Federal, state, county and local governments collecting taxes; eliminating all special district governments.
President Obama has to ask Congress “Why Not?” and if we can; draw up the legislation and put it into law. (U. S. Constitution, Article 1, section 8 and the 16th Amendment, both allows this.)
Our local tax is our responsibility and we know what the other governments are going to provide. They have the same responsibilities and their adjustable tax is there to make sure. If they can’t; don’t promise.
The adjustable tax allows every government to prepare a balanced budget each year and if there are things taxpayers can’t afford; don’t put it in. If taxpayers have a choice where to spend their money; they will usually choose their local district. From there forward, taxpayers will pay the taxes, where they happen to be.
Just think; everyone can earn as much money as they can and pay no tax until they spend it. Tax records are also gone forever; except government check books and invoices. Why should our manufacturers leave America; and pay taxes? Is this something we can all support and convince our President to ask Congress; “Why Not?”; politicians won’t because they don’t TRUST THE PEOPLE that elected them.
