The last chance to vote to fix what’s harming you is this Tuesday.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

GO VOTE!

The Fraud They Dumped On Us

Here’s a little motivation to vote that’s behind today’s crushing lack of affordability, the massive corruption, an illegal forever war that’s killing thousands, the Epstein horrors, the millions who have lost their healthcare coverage, the millions of kids who are going hungry and the other administration and congressional stuff that makes these the times that try men’s and women’s souls – the stuff that torments you, that worries and scares you. This is a largely forgotten or ignored issue that brought us to these times of civil and governmental destruction.

On January 21, 2010 the Supreme Court handed down its decisions in the Citizens United case (link here to the Brennan Center explanation). There is much to criticize about the case and about the decisions. But the most critically important by far is that Chief Justice John Roberts effectively used that case to invent out of thin air an entirely new, separate case that has been devastating to our country.

In that separate case, 5 justices showed us that they cannot tell the difference between flesh and blood human beings and an inanimate object (corporations). They decided that all of the rights designed in the Constitution to be for actual humans like you should also be given to those inanimate, soulless things. Plus, they couldn’t tell the difference between money (a tangible, physical object – i.e. property) and freedom of speech (a concept, an idea, an intangible thing).

The result was to allow enormous political contributions to be made by corporations and unfathomably wealthy individuals for the purpose of skewing our elections to their own benefit. Not yours.

Ted Dintersmith has something on that. In his post of October 26, A Trillion Pennies For Your Hate, he wrote,

Click me. Be sure to read the fine print.

Last week, midterm political ad spending blew past $10 billion, on its way to $12 billion by Election Day. Way up from the $8.9 billion spent in the 2022 midterms. [It’s t]he first midterm in U.S. history to outspend the prior presidential cycle. Massive sums in Senate races: Texas ($500 million), Ohio ($400 million), and Maine ($200 million, the most per-capita in Senate history). Outside groups [that’s where the corporate “dark money” goes] outspending the candidates by 3x. One individual – Elon Musk – pouring in $366 million. And new to this cycle, $137 million of AI-generated ads – 88% Republican-sponsored.

Let’s look at those preposterous numbers on a more understandable level.

There are 217,223,010 registered voters in the United States. With spending for this midterm election expected to be $12,000,000,000, that’s over $55 trying to buy every vote, including yours.

Worse, there are 968,244 registered voters in Maine and the monster money guys are spending over $200 million to buy their votes. That’s over $206 per vote. And that’s just the money we know about.

That is what the John Roberts Court enabled and brought to us
with its fabricated Citizens United case.
And it is what has enabled most of the things that are vexing you right now.
.

Link to Dintersmith’s chart and note the exponential increase in spending to influence votes in our elections since that 2010 Citizens United decision. Then answer these questions:

1. Should elected officials be able to pick their constituents via gerrymandering, lubricated by big money, or should We The People select our representatives?

2. Should inanimate objects have the same rights as you and be able to control We The People by using their enormous piles of money that you cannot possibly compete with?

3. Should super rich people like Elon Musk be allowed to effectively buy the election results they want?

Sadly, those three questions are essentially the same: Big Money is taking away your rights and your freedom.

Why Lay This Out Today?

Because this kind of undermining of our rights, this destruction of our democracy and our very republic are what has been gong on since our so-called “conservatives” on the Court and the cowards in Congress began their poisoning of our country. If you want something different, you and I and a whole lot of our country-men and -women need to clean house.

Vance’s “This Is Not The Time” BS

Here is how Trump and his headcase spokespeople view you. Hint: They think you’re just a little whiner.

There’s more, of course, like the unfathomable corruption, our international self-neutering (effectively, “Make America Last!“) and the dismantling of all that protects us.  Click the pic and watch the video. Then VOTE!

Fun “Maybe” Fact

I don’t know the validity of the source material for this claim, but here’s a video from Raw America, an outfit claiming to be a people powered news network, saying,

More women have credibly accused Donald Trump of sexual assault than non-citizens have voted in federal elections.

This might be just Pizzagate quality conspiracy stuff, but do some math in your head. With only one possible (not convicted – just a possible) non-citizen voting for every 1.6 million votes cast and the very many accusations about Trump’s sexual assaults (Ref: E. Jean Carroll and Trump’s likely Epstein victims), the claim might be accurate. And even if the math proves to be iffy, the points are valid:

  1. We don’t have an illegal voting problem.
  2. We do have a sexual assault problem and it’s infamously and proudly modeled by our leaders.

The moral of this story is simple: We must rid ourselves of these menaces to humanity. VOTE!

OMG! What If You Still Aren’t Convinced To Vote?

This next is real and it’s existentially dangerous. It’s about what Trump is prepared to do to invalidate our election results and establish his vain, dementia-addled dictatorship forever.

To understand the threat that faces us you must read the Reuters report that’s detailed in Times Live, entitled,

SPECIAL REPORT
Nine ways the Trump administration could interfere with the US midterms
Election officials brace for potential federal intervention and legal chaos
.

This is interference with our free and fair elections to illegally twist and distort results into Trump’s desired outcomes. I wrote about one of those nine ways here.

Read the Reuters report. It should motivate you to take any and every action you can to stop these megalomaniacs.

Like: VOTE! against them.

Quote Of The Week

From Guy Herman’s essay Spring 1630. Autumn 2026 in The Union:

A wrong that is met with silence teaches that the world has no floor.

It’s time to to break the silence, to reinforce the floor and do it with our VOTES!

Final Warning

It’s up to us to make sure that the election stealers never again get their cruel, barbaric hands on the levers of power..

The last chance to vote to fix what’s harming you is this Tuesday.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

GO VOTE!

The Fine Print:

  1. Writings quoted or linked from my posts reflect a point I want to make, at least in part. That does not necessarily mean that I endorse or agree with everything in such writings.
  2. There are lots of smart, well-informed people. Sometimes we agree; sometimes we don’t. Search for others’ views and decide for yourself.
  3. Errors in fact, grammar, spelling and punctuation are all embarrassingly mine, but I do wish that I could blame someone else. Glad to have your corrections.
  4. I am neither offered nor do I accept funding of any type from candidates, online blabbers, organizations with or without any position or opinion or from any other origin other than from my own meager resources.
  5. Book links to Amazon or Barnes & Noble are provided for reference only. Please purchase your books through your local mom & pop bookstore. Keep them and your town or neighborhood vibrant.
  6. Clicking on most pics in these posts will take you to the source material.
  7. Do not look to these posts for “both sides” idiocy. I don’t have life to waste on such foolishness, such disingenuous nonsense and you shouldn’t either. You can find “both sides” misdirection in any cowardly publication. I post what I believe to be true, sarcasm and snark sometimes excepted. I make no pretense nor allow any space for the idiocy of insisting views to be somehow balanced for reporting or opinion presentation fairness, because doing so would be grossly unfair and of no value.
  8. If you disagree with anything I write, if you think I’m inappropriately biased, puff up your courage and put it in the Comments section. But see Point #9 below. On the other hand, let’s agree that I, like you, am biased.
  9. Comments offered by readers, whether in agreement with my opinions or opposing, are encouraged and greatly appreciated. All comments are reviewed prior to going live. I reserve the right to edit for readability, punctuation, typos, voluntary idiocy and to exclude those comments I deem inappropriate or offensive solely for someone taking the opportunity to be offensive. It’s my post, my rules.
  10. We do not sell, give away, lend, share or otherwise allow the disclosure of the identity of our subscribers or of their information. Never have, never will. That should not have to be said, but the times have taught us that the words do need to be declared. At the last, all we can cling to is trust in one another.
  11. Responsibility for the content of these posts is unequivocally, totally, unavoidably mine. Unless it’s a guest essay, in which case, blame the guest.
