New Ryan Budget Adjustment

Reading time – 23 seconds  .  .  .

Washington DC – In a press briefing in front of the Washington Field Office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) introduced new details of his updated budget plan. “To help save the economy,”  Ryan announced, “we’re making  an important change to our proposed budget. Upon adoption of the plan, we will start deporting seniors instead of illegal immigrants, in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. That simple change will extend the life of both programs by decades. It will also cost far less to administer than the current INS rules because older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home.”*

Note that Congressman Ryan has not yet contacted me to indicate if his mother, Elizabeth Ryan, will be eligible for deportation.

Eric CantorSUNDAY TWO-FER!

Reading time – 11 seconds

Good-bye, Eric Cantor, latest loser to a new extremist fool.  For years you had the power to be the driver of betterment for the American people and you chose instead to be a petty obstructionist.

We will not miss your arrogance and lies, your demagoguery and fraudulent misrepresentations, your partisan posturing and your dedication to failure. Your mother may be proud of you, but most of us are not.

Ed. note: There is much in America that needs fixing and we are on a path to continually fail to make things better. It is my goal to make a difference – perhaps to be a catalyst for things to get better. That is the reason for these posts. To accomplish the goal requires reaching many thousands of people and a robust dialogue. Please help by offering your comments, as well as by passing this along and encouraging others to do the same.  Thanks.  JA

Speaking as an individual senior (not intending in any way to speak for any others), I have this to say about the purported proposal:

I’ve always wanted to travel more but I wonder where I would be deported to since I was born in the USA — maybe they’ll deport me to Chicago. What d’ya think?

Paul Ryan wouldn’t “save” his mother if given a choice!
If he had his way, he would give more tax breaks to the rich.

His “new and improved” budget cuts would include: food stamps by $126 billion; cuts to student loans (Pell Grants) by $700 billion; cuts to education by 24% by 2024; it would block increasing the minimum wage. In trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act almost 50 times and while kicking more than a million people off who have already signed on, as well as those who couldn’t ever get insurance because of a pre-existing conditions, Ryan and his pals have wasted more than $54 million of taxpayers’ money to continue to this fight to the bottom.

Now, why would Ryan, the mouthpiece of the Koch brothers, push this cannabalistic agenda? Simple, the middle class would get a $2,000 tax increase and if you’re a millionaire, you receive $200,000 in ‘entitlement” tax CUTS.

This Republican Party is dangerous. But what can you expect when you’re getting paid off to propose these cuts when 90% of the public DOES NOT want any part of his ideas….or should I say, the Koch ideas?

Ryan and his cronies try to convince voters that the poor will work harder if they get reduced entitlements while the rich will work harder if they get bigger tax cuts…called “entitlements”. If there is any entity in this country who loves their entitlements, it’s the corporations and the wealthy….who have a super-sized appetite for loopholes, tax incentives and being able to hoard profits in off-shore accounts to avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

Now we’ll be seeing corporations heading abroad to set up headquarters in another country….like Walgreens…to avoid paying taxes to the U.S. Government because there is a loophole they’ve found!
If Ryan keeps this up, he just might succeed with his plans … or, I should say, the Koch’s plans! We need to be careful who we vote for or we could all be living in a Oligarchy form of government where a small group of people (wealthy) govern for their own purposes.

So glad Cantor is gone, but, rest assured, there will be another just like him in that position.
