Are You Sick of Winning Yet?
Food prices are up.
Healthcare cost is up.
Energy – gas for your tank, electricity and heating oil – all up
We’re abusing, disappearing and murdering our own citizens.
We were told they were getting rid of the worst of the worst, but 86% of the people they/we have locked up are innocent of any serious crime.
We started an illegal war for no clear reason, there is no apparent way out of it and our allies won’t support us.
We’ve angered all of our allies through insults, tariffs, threats and Russia coddling and we’ve created massive international distrust, to the point that over 40 nations are banding together economically and leaving us behind.
Instead of creating millions of great, high paying manufacturing jobs, we’ve lost 100,000 of them and thousands of service jobs, too.
Trump promised the opposite of all the things on this list and more, yet here we are in this worsening quagmire of betrayal, a lowering standard of living and threats to our nation.
I’m sick for sure, but what ails me isn’t due to winning. And I’m confident that a strong majority of the 77 million voters for Trump in 2024 did not vote for all this “winning.” In their heart of hearts they know they were duped by a con man. Having to admit they were wrong, though, or that they’ve been played for fools is a very bitter pill and millions won’t ever swallow it.
But some have and they’re ready to leave the chaos and brutality behind.
About That Illegal War

Now we have 4,000 U.S. Marines on the way, ready to do a ground invasion of Iran. This is the “boots on the ground” thing that Trump told us over and over that he wouldn’t do. Oh, it’s just to secure the Strait of Hormuz, he’ll say. We’ll only invade a little bit of Iran.
What do you think the Iranians will do when their homeland is invaded? Do you think Trump and his idiot Secretary of Defense will stop the troops on the beaches, that they won’t send them to occupy the entire country? The landing pattern at Dover AFB is about to become very busy.
And still the Republicans holding Congress hostage sit on their hands. I think we should draft their sons, daughters and all their grandchildren past their 18th birthday and deploy them to land on the beaches of Iran. Under that threat, do you think these congressional Republicans could at last find their spines and do their job to check and balance, to stand up to this lawless, murderous president?
If they did stand up and stand strong, that would be winning. It would also be a new experience for all of us.

This is offered as your rights are systematically being taken from you. What do you suppose the Founders would say to all of Trump’s crushing of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, to which they pledged their Lives, their Fortunes and their sacred Honor?
Trump could never understand that integrity, especially the honor part. He’d call them suckers and losers. But you get it.
Observe And Think
Trump puts his empathy for our fallen on display. He says he just played his best round of golf.
The next few times you hear Trump giving a speech, rally, press conference or interview, note that every topic, every event, every squishy policy comment, every response to every question is converted into the issue of money. He bypasses all focus on moral choices, doing the right thing, supporting the American people, caring about anyone but himself, protecting and defending and simple right versus wrong. If he touches on such topics, he will convert them instantly into a comment about money.
To him, everything is about money. That’s why he changes an opportunity for caring about our fallen military people, a chance to express empathy for their forlorn loved ones, into something monetary, like wearing his promotional ball cap as caskets of our fallen in flag draped coffins passed by. For Trump, everything is an opportunity for money. Winning and his presidency are solely about amassing cash.

Jack,
What a disambigulation today. A rant at what we all already know and HAVE known for a long time. Make you feel better? It didn’t make me feel better. Let’s think big for once. Instead of blaming the Republicans for sitting on their hands, why not look the world over for some answers also. How many countries have had Iranian backed terror attacked visited upon them with resulting death and destruction and have sat on their collective hands and done nothing for years? Not one gathering or international meeting condemning Iran and their lackeys let alone a plan to show a united front.
The immigrant problem in Europe of mass migration of Muslims is worse than that at OUR Southern Border at the worst of times. In reality, all caused by the trouble making of Iran. While here in the U.S. we give immigrants the chance to make a living and better themselves, the European countries DON’T, leaving a high percentage population of those immigrants, as much as 40% or more, especially those in their late teens and twenties jobless and angry and receptive to radicalization from outside forces.
The real PROBLEM is combined forces of the U.S. AND our Allies should have taken collective steps long ago and put a stop to Iran after the first 10 years of the foolish dreams of the Iranian Shia Theocracy to change their minority Muslim beliefs to the majority by any means possible. Shia’s make up only 10% to 15% of the world Muslim 1.7 billion population.
So how did we get to where we are NOW in the U.S.? How was it possible for a minority get to elect a President in 2016? AND after showing the population what a terrible leader he was for 4 years re-elect him again after a 4 year hiatus? The answer lies in the abysmal ignorance of the majority of the citizens of our own country. The FACT that in Louisiana 40% of the population is functionally illiterate and to some degree so is the rest of the Country is scary in and of itself. Thus, it should be no surprise that an easily ill educated public would be susceptible to a charlatan conman who promises the impossible but is only out for himself and even though he did NOTHING of substance he promised to do in his first term then re-elect him to a second term in office.
So tell me, why should we be surprised with what he is doing in his second term? One surprise? For the FIRST time in our history more CITIZENS are leaving the United States than are coming in. A true harbinger of our decline. The fault is all ours when the best of us, in the main, refuse to step up and take public office and leave this country to be led by those that couldn’t hold any other job if left to their own devices. When we close our eyes and do not demand a public accounting of those that enter office with relative modest savings and shortly accumulate multi millions to their estate from a salary of $174,000.00 for a sitting member of both houses of Congress. Let’s face the facts for once. Congress as a whole is corrupt no matter who is in the Oval Office. Do NOT expect them to vote against their own interests like placing term limits on themselves or outright ban Gerrymandering or make strong and enduring ethics rules that are enforced no matter who violates them.
Surprised by Trump and the fools he surrounds himself with and puts in positions of power offer are not equipped to hold? Don’t make me laugh about that or any other shoot from the help not thought out product from him.
Further, I an sick to death of seeing his nonsensical blathering constantly every day on the so called “news”. This is a National disgrace.

Alas, some very large fraction of the 77 million who voted for Trump still support him today, even some of the idiots who justified their votes by demanding cheap eggs. This group of brainless believers are the superstructure for the most incompetent administration in American history (which is saying a lot).
What amazes me most of all is how these fools ignored the lessons of Vietnam, Afghanistan (USSR and USA versions), and Iraq. These lessons are: 1) technology and money buy you the first month, 2) after that it’s a boots-on-the-ground slog ultimately won by the people who live there and have nowhere else to go.
In a just world, we could offer the Iranians an exchange of prisoners to end this stupid, bloody war: to wit, we give them Trump, Hegseth, and anyone else in the cabinet they want, and they open the Strait. Yes, the Iranian regime is even more evil than the Trump regime, but we can’t do anything about the Iranians…
An alternative plan would be for us to hang Trump and his toadies ourselves and televise the event, giving Iran naming rights and ad blocks in return for opening the Strait.

There’s a lot to unpack here, Barry. I’ll pick just one nit.

You may recall what was named the Arab Spring, a slightly less onerous version of government rule that portended greater individual freedom. That was interrupted by our invasion of Iraq and military action in Syria, causing millions to flee for their lives and many headed west to Europe. That had nothing to do with Iran’s mischief.
